F1 ACADEMY continues to evolve

Created in 2023, F1 ACADEMY has quickly established itself as a new stage in the international single-seater development ladder for female drivers. The championship was designed to provide young women with a dedicated platform to develop their racing experience and progress towards higher categories. Since 2024, Wild Cards have also provided opportunities for emerging talents from the regions visited by the championship.

Review Formula 1 Academy 2027 documents the 2027 season in detail, session by session, while placing it within the recent history of the championship. The book also brings together the results from previous seasons, creating a structured archive of the drivers, teams, circuits and races that have shaped the first years of F1 ACADEMY.

The first three championships produced three different champions. Marta García won the inaugural title in 2023, followed by Abbi Pulling in 2024 and Doriane Pin in 2025. This succession already illustrates the ability of F1 ACADEMY to identify new talents and support their progression towards international competition.

The series has also continued to evolve since its creation. The grid expanded to 18 cars in 2025 with the arrival of Hitech as the sixth team. The 2026 season then introduced an evolution of the sporting format at selected events, with three races on the schedule: the Opening Race, Reverse Grid Race and Feature Race. F1 ACADEMY rounds also continue to take place within Formula 1 Grand Prix weekends, giving its drivers exposure to some of the world’s leading international circuits.

The technical philosophy remains based on equal machinery and driver development. F1 ACADEMY is a one-make championship in which teams compete with identical cars. Drivers must be between 16 and 25 years old at the time of their first race weekend of the season, while the regulations normally limit participation to two seasons. From 2027, however, an exemption allows certain drivers with strong development potential to compete for a third season.

This evolution gives the 2027 season a particular place in the history of the championship. In its fifth year, F1 ACADEMY already has a succession of drivers, teams, circuits and sporting formats that makes it possible to measure its development since 2023, while continuing to pursue its original purpose: identifying and developing the next generation of female racing drivers.

Like the other Reviews in the Red Books collection, this publication is not intended to replace daily sporting coverage. It is an archive: sessions, qualifying, races, drivers, teams and statistics are organised so that they can be consulted, compared and preserved over time.

Review Formula 1 Academy 2027 continues the annual archive of a championship that is still young, but already occupies a distinctive place in the history of modern single-seater racing.
