Created in 2023, F1 ACADEMY has quickly become an established part of the international single-seater landscape. Designed to identify and develop young female racing drivers, the series benefits from significant exposure by holding its events within Formula 1 Grand Prix weekends. Its purpose is to provide a genuine pathway towards higher categories and contribute to the development of a new generation of drivers.
Review Formula 1 Academy 2029 documents the 2029 season in detail, session by session, while placing it within the history of the championship since its launch in 2023. The book also brings together the results from previous seasons, allowing readers to follow the drivers, teams, circuits and sporting developments of F1 ACADEMY year after year.
The opening seasons have already produced several generations of talent. Marta García won the inaugural championship in 2023, followed by Abbi Pulling in 2024 and Doriane Pin in 2025. This succession reflects the purpose of the series: to give young female drivers high-level racing experience and international visibility in an environment designed to support their development.
The championship has also evolved since its creation. The grid now consists of 18 identical cars divided among six teams, with a Wild Card providing an opportunity for an additional emerging talent. The weekend format has also expanded: depending on the event, drivers compete in either two or three races, with the Opening Race, Reverse Grid Race and Feature Race forming the three-race format.
Regulations normally limit a driver to two seasons in the championship. Since 2027, however, an exemption can allow certain drivers who have already completed two seasons to compete for a third year when their development potential justifies it. F1 ACADEMY champions are not eligible to return to the championship.
The series has also continued to strengthen its links with Formula 1 teams. A multi-year agreement announced in 2025 provides support from all ten existing F1 teams, while Cadillac joins the programme from 2027. This involvement further reinforces F1 ACADEMY’s position within the development strategy for young female racing talent.
By 2029, F1 ACADEMY will have accumulated several years of history, making it possible to observe the evolution of its drivers, format and role within the single-seater development ladder. For an archival publication, this continuity is essential: each new season adds to the previous ones and places individual performances within a broader historical record.
As with the other Reviews in the Red Books collection, Review Formula 1 Academy 2029 is not a current-affairs magazine. It is a reference book in which sessions, qualifying, races, drivers, teams and statistics are organised so that they can be consulted, compared and preserved over time.
This edition continues the annual archive established with Review Formula 1 Academy 2027 and Review Formula 1 Academy 2028, adding another season to the documentary record of the championship.
