Description

Fifteen seasons at the heart of Formula E history

Since its first E-Prix in Beijing on 13 September 2014, Formula E has profoundly changed the international single-seater landscape. Created as the world’s first fully electric international single-seater championship, the series has evolved through successive generations of cars while establishing itself on the streets of major cities around the world.

The inaugural 2014-15 season marked the beginning of this history. Ten teams took part in the championship, including Audi Sport, Andretti, Mahindra and Renault e.dams. Nelson Piquet Jr. became the first Formula E champion, beating Sébastien Buemi by a single point at the end of the season. Lucas di Grassi won the first E-Prix in Beijing, while Piquet took victories at Long Beach and Moscow among his three wins on the way to the title.

Over the following seasons, Formula E welcomed new manufacturers, teams and generations of single-seaters. Sébastien Buemi, Lucas di Grassi, Jean-Éric Vergne, António Félix da Costa, Nyck de Vries, Stoffel Vandoorne and many other drivers helped shape the development of the championship. The series also reached a major milestone when it became an official FIA World Championship in 2020-21.

Review Formula E 2028-29 covers this history across fifteen seasons, from 2014-15 to 2028-29. The book documents the 2028-29 season session by session while also bringing together the championship’s historical results, including races, drivers, teams, circuits and statistics. It places each new season within the continuity of those that came before and provides a structured record of Formula E’s evolution over more than a decade.

The period covered also reaches into the GEN4 era. Introduced from the 2026-27 season, this new generation represents another major technological step for Formula E, with active all-wheel drive and power of up to 600 kW depending on the configuration. The 2028-29 season therefore belongs to a new phase in the championship’s technical development, following more than ten years of evolution in electric racing technology.

As with the other editions in the collection, Review Formula E 2028-29 is not intended as commentary on current sporting events. It is an archive designed to preserve the results and historical reference points of a relatively young championship whose development already deserves to be documented in a structured and lasting form.

This edition continues the sequence established by Review Formula E 2026-27 and Review Formula E 2027-28, adding another season to the same documentary record. Year after year, the archive grows, making it possible to compare the different generations of drivers, teams, circuits and single-seaters that have built the history of Formula E.

Fifteen seasons. Hundreds of races and results. Generations of drivers, teams and single-seaters. An archive of Formula E, from the beginnings of electric racing to the GEN4 era.
