Fourteen seasons tracing the history of Formula E

Launched in 2014, Formula E transformed the international motorsport landscape by becoming the world’s first fully electric single-seater world championship. The first-ever E-Prix was held in Beijing on 13 September 2014, before Nelson Piquet Jr. became the inaugural champion at the end of the 2014-15 season. Since then, the championship has undergone a remarkable evolution in its cars, manufacturers, teams and circuits.

Review Formula E 2027-28 documents the 2027-28 season session by session while also bringing together the results from the fourteen seasons covered by the book, from 2014-15 to 2027-28. This approach makes it possible to follow a new season in detail while preserving a complete historical perspective on Formula E since its beginnings.

The early years were shaped by battles between Nelson Piquet Jr., Sébastien Buemi, Lucas di Grassi and Sam Bird, followed by successive generations of drivers and manufacturers. Renault e.dams, Audi Sport ABT, DS, Jaguar, Porsche, Nissan, Mahindra and other manufacturers and teams have contributed to the championship’s development. E-Prix events in Hong Kong, Paris, New York, Rome, Berlin, London, Monaco, Mexico City and São Paulo have also become part of its sporting heritage.

The period covered by this edition also follows Formula E into a new era of performance. The GEN4 generation, introduced for the 2026-27 season, represents a major technical evolution, with up to 600 kW of power in qualifying and ATTACK MODE, active all-wheel drive and a top speed expected to exceed 335 km/h. The new generation is designed to raise the performance level of electric single-seater racing while maintaining the championship’s focus on technological innovation and sustainability.

The 2026-27 season also introduces a record-breaking calendar of 21 races across 13 events and 11 countries, including Austin, Brands Hatch and Zandvoort as new destinations. Formula E therefore continues to evolve between established street circuits and permanent venues capable of accommodating the increased performance of the GEN4 cars.

Review Formula E 2027-28 follows this new chapter in the championship’s history. The book brings together sessions, races, results, drivers, teams, circuits and statistics, allowing readers to find a result, compare different seasons or follow the career of a driver or the evolution of a team over time.
